Gridnik. Artist Catalogue

The intended goal of the magazine is to craft a seamless reading experience for the reader, where the layouts flow from one page to the next, through repeated components, consistent hanglines, and the arrangement of elements within the six-column grid.

The magazine begins with some of Wim Crouwel’s final work, then jumps to the beginning and follows his career chronologically, with a few exceptions, until the end.

The front and back cover feature a photograph of Wim Crouwel and his associates from Total Design, with the title and subtitle typeset in two typefaces designed by Wim Crouwel—Architype Stedelijk and the famous New Alphabet. The inside front and back cover feature the earliest and latest known photographs of Crouwel respectively.
